TRAVEL TIPS FOR MILLENNIAL

TRAVEL TIPS FOR MILLENNIAL
Main topic: Travel Tips for Millennial
For millennial generations, traveling is a hobby that older generations find a bit irrelevant. Not all of them do, but some of course.  You may be familiar with some commentaries like “they don’t even have a house yet, why are they spending money on traveling abroad?” or “They always traveling, do they even save/invest?” Although this is not entirely wrong, we millennial kids tend to travel more these days. It’s one reason why this Travel Tips for Millennial is important. As a millennial, it’s rather important to know some useful travel tips so we can still save money while keeping our hobby on roll.
Are you ready for the tips? Keep reading!
TRAVEL TIPS FOR MILLENNIAL
·         Avoid Peak Season
Yes, might be obvious. During peak season, the price of almost everything you need to travel will be more likely to rise up. You will have to pay more for the flight tickets and the hotel. Even the local food in your destination will cost more. Unless you are only able to travel during peak season for whatever reason, you might want to avoid it. It will certainly save you lots of money. Part from that, traveling on low season will allow you to enjoy more of the destination. It will be more quiet and peaceful and you get to enjoy the place for yourself if you are lucky enough. LOL.
And if you care for photos, more space to pose for your Instagram account. More money saved for your next stop.
·         Early Booking
Of course, it has been known for so long that you can have a better price if you book your flight tickets early. Some even say that the chance of getting the best price is to book as early as 65 days before your flight. Wow! And it has been said that the best days to fly is Tuesday and Wednesday as flights on those two days are usually cheaper. Who knew?
·         Round Trip Tips
This one particular Travel Tips for Millennial to me is very significant. I have long noticed that feature I use when I book my flight would affect my budget. For round trip, I would suggest you to skip the round trip feature in whatever application you use. There is a big chance that they will offer you the higher price range. Unless you are sure of the price, book your ticket each separately. One at a time. You’ll be surprised to see the difference. If not, you’ll be able to see more options before deciding which flight to get.
·         Low Budget Hotel
Going on vacation doesn’t always rhyme with luxurious hotel. I am not saying you have to stay in a cheap hotel where you don’t feel comfortable. Unless of course, you don’t think it is a big deal. But you know what, it is not impossible to find good hotels with a cheap price if you know the secret. I have talked about this particular tip on my previous post few weeks ago. And some of them are to compare every price offered by each online booking platform, to booking from the hotel website, or make reservation by phone directly to the hotel. This will allow you to bargain and see what they can do for you. Yup, you read that right!

·         Bundle Booking Option
Some travel companies and online booking applications have advanced their marketing strategy. It is now available to buy a flight/hotel package to make things easier for us. It covers both your flight tickets and the hotel. The best thing about it is usually they come with some discounts. The thing is this package has limited offer for limited time only and is not very flexible. The odds of you finding the good package on your schedule are not zero though. Just make sure to check manually each price they offer, one by one, before you buy the package to see if it is the best price or not.
·         Eat Local Food
What’s the point of visiting a new country without embracing the local identity? When you travel to a certain tourism destination, especially the culturally rich one, help the local people by buying food from their place. Try something new and enrich your experience by taking part in their culture. I get that reading the sign of a western food restaurant/Indonesian/etc can be tempting at times. But hey, the point here is to enjoy the local right? Local cuisine might surprise you. You don’t need to eat Italian food while visiting Bali. You don’t have to order sushi when you come to visit Lombok or Yogyakarta, right? Go out there and eat the local food. Enjoy your time with the local people and bring home some good memories.
·         Skip The Souvenir
It is only applicable if you really are tight on budget. You might not find it necessary to buy souvenirs from your holiday destination as that’s not why you come there in the first place. And you know what? That’s a perfectly valid point. We come there visiting new countries to see the world and enjoy what they have to offer, not for shopping. Even if you decide to buy some, make sure it doesn’t violate your budget. There are some other destinations waiting for you!
That’s it, guys! I hope this Travel Tips for Millennial article can help you plan your next holiday better. Enjoy the world and see you on the next post!
